Turmoil in the Middle East – overview and outlook

What are the implications of current military operations for commercial shipping operations?

The US and Israeli campaign against Iran, as well as the fallout of the attacks across the Middle East, have once again placed global shipping in the spotlight. As military operations continue, the implications for commercial maritime traffic are becoming increasingly significant. From attacks on vessels to disruptions of maritime traffic through the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz, the operational landscape for global trade has rarely been more uncertain.

In this webinar, we will provide a brief overview on how current military dynamics are shaping commercial shipping operations and risk management practices. We will also explore early indicators of how the next phase of regional escalation—or de-escalation—could affect global supply chains. In addition, there will be an extended Q&A section to address questions which are directly relevant for many attendees.

Speakers:
Dr. Dirk Siebels - Senior Analyst
Kais Makhlouf - Analyst, MENA region
