GNSS jamming and spoofing – growing concern for maritime operations

How are emerging security threats reshaping risk management and insurance in global shipping?

Jamming and spoofing of navigational systems has become a major concern for merchant ships. In some cases, ships are targeted directly, in other cases seafarers have to deal with the fallout from land-based conflicts.

In this webinar, Søren Reime Larsen will explain the technical details of how Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) can be disrupted and whether there are feasible countermeasures for commercial vessels. As a post doc at Denmark-based DTU, a leading university in the areas of technical and natural sciences, Søren has conducted extensive research in this area and can provide answers to many advanced questions around radio-frequency interference, such as jamming or spoofing.
