Hans Tino Hansen, CEO of Risk Intelligence, shared his insights with La Presse on the risks posed by drone intrusions near critical European infrastructure.

Published 10 October 2025, the article notes growing concerns over recent drone intrusions near strategic European infrastructure. Hansen points out that drones are being used to monitor and test the level of response, resilience, and political will of authorities at critical sites such as airports, military bases, power grids, and communications systems. He emphasises that it is unclear what information the perpetrators have collected about these systems and highlights both the authorities’ weak power to defend themselves and their lack of response. Hansen also warns of the serious potential consequences of illegal overflights, including power outages, communications failures, and, in extreme cases, the risk of fatal collisions with other aircraft.
