Rana Blad | A lot of secrecy behind the new report on critical infrastructure – but everyone will be able to read it
Robin Häggblom, Senior Advisor at Risk Intelligence, outlines ongoing work on military mobility and critical infrastructure in Northern Scandinavia in an article published by Rana Blad.
Published on 5 March 2026, the article highlights a report being carried out by Risk Intelligence on how transport infrastructure along the Trøndelag–Helgeland axis toward Sweden and Finland, including parts of the E12 corridor, can be strengthened to support emergency preparedness, total defence, and secure supply chains.
Häggblom explains that while traditional defence planning has focused on a north–south axis, this work instead examines a west–east axis. He notes that in a crisis, demand for supplies would increase significantly in both directions, for both military and civilian purposes, requiring transport routes capable of handling increased traffic.
Risk Intelligence gathers input through direct regional fieldwork rather than desk-based research alone. Häggblom notes that they do not disclose their sources and that much of the information is classified, adding that this approach provides a strong foundation for the report, which will be publicly available.
