Three separate cases in April and May have once again thrown the spotlight onto this particular threat in the Gulf of Oman and Persian Gulf area. Similar actions are likely to continue. Tanker operators in particular should be aware of the situation and note that there may be different reasons behind individual detentions, leading to lingering concerns for crews and operators alike.
